Mission & Vision
Established in February 2019, the I-LEAD Adult Education Center is unwavering in its commitment to the Reading community.
Program Descriptions
English Language Foundations: This 10-week program is aimed at individuals who want to improve their English language proficiency. Classes are held for 3 hours a day, three days a week. We offer Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced levels. 90 Credit Hours
Adult Literacy and Numeracy: Another 10-week program meets three a week for 3 hours, focusing on improving Reading, writing, and basic numeracy skills. 90 Credit Hours
HiSET® Preparation and Examination: We offer a 6-week program for HiSET® preparation in both Spanish and English. Classes meet for 3 hours per day, three days a week. 54 Credit Hours
Achieve College Education (ACE): This program assists low-income working adults in obtaining associate degrees through Harcum College in Business Management, Behavioral Health Science, Human Services, Animal Care Management, Early Childhood Education, and Criminal Justice.
Fun Facts
IBEW Electrical Union Pre-Apprenticeship: Designed to equip individuals with the skills to tame the IBEW Electrical Union aptitude exams. This program serves as a stepping stone to more advanced pre-apprenticeships and career opportunities in the electrical field.
Leadership Development: A six-week specialized program focusing on developing leadership skills such as problem-solving, team building, and effective communication. The course is structured to meet the unique challenges faced by the Latino community in leadership roles.
Computer Literacy: This program provides essential computer skills, including primary software usage, email communication, and internet navigation. Classes run for ten weeks, meeting three times a week for 3 hours.
Eligibility and Enrollment
Prospective students are encouraged to visit our center for an initial evaluation and placement into appropriate courses. Our programs also involve standardized testing to determine the skill levels of enrollees.
